Vesak Weekend

Spent the long weekend in M'sia - Bt Indah & an impromptu one day trip to Malacca..heez~

Checked into our boutique hotel on Fri 12+pm, after a 1hr jam at causeway (which I consider it to be pretty ok liao given it's a public holi)...so lovez the room that we booked..is a design boutique room w a hanging bed..w a stairs leading to the bed..very nice~

Now, if u think tt boutique hotels r cheap, sleazy, dirty/unhygenic, hah try one and u'll change ur mind..boutique hotels r getting popular w locals n tourists w their unique designs for each of their rooms and seriously..they r NOT CHEAP at all!!! given the rate we paid for the room by m'sia standard..it's ex~~ even the boutique hotels in sg r like damn expensive also..dirty/sleazy? far from it manz...the one i stayed in is so clean and popular (w singaporeans) tt u have to book at least 2 weeks-1mth in advance, esp for their family room..jessie booked hers 3 mths ahead!! I'm considering abt booking it again for xmas or a short year-end getaway trip w just me and dg... *smilez*

Verdict of the hotel:
Room Size: Pretty comfortable if it's for a couple..anything more might be abit squeezy (depending on the type of room)
Hotel Staff: Very friendly and helpful..responsive to needs..
Condition of hotel/room: Very clean, comfortable, quiet and the rooms r pretty sound-proof..(we played mahjong the whole night n no one complained :P )
Room rate: Depending on room type..different room different rate..RM$50 for adding a bed..and theirs is really a BED w backing..mai siao siao..not just a mattress like most of the big hotels out there..
Overall rating: 90/100..the only 美中不足 is that the hotel is too small and their rooms r often so fully booked tt u really have to book way in advance..we tried walking in 2 weeks ago and we couldnt get a room on the spot :(

Show u some photos of the room.. (p/s: thinking of getting a wide lens camera..but mine's still working pretty fine and I still love it cox I crystallized it..so maybe next yr bah)

the supposedly sitting area in which we replaced w a bed..cox this room was actually meant for 2 pax..but cox we couldnt get a bigger room (all fully booked!) for 4 so we had to make do w this and put in an extra bed..

even their bathroom is painstakingly designed..love the tiles..pretty yet practical cox is totally non-slippery..

After checking out our room..next thing we did of cox is look for food!! We were starving by then..and we proceeded str to this restaurant recommended by jessie n hanwei who gave it 2 thumbs up for their roasted duck..
The place was fully packed when we reached and we had to wait for a table..but the food was definitely worth the wait..price, quality, taste...超赞~
their 当归烧鸭 definitely is a must-try..yums yums..we r so gg back to eat it again...soon!
After lunch, went walk walk Jusco @ Bt Indah..and barely 3hrs later...
A&W !!!!

Not long after lunch...MACHA ICE-CREAM~~
Yums yums..this cone is so much better than any of those I eat in sg..the macha taste is so-macha..lol..and the cone is so crispy tt i hear the crunchiness w every single bite..wooh~ saliva dripping...
Went back to 五福城 for a massage and dinner...

NUTS!!!

settled for Korean Shabu-Shabu for dinner..is actually like a normal steamboat buffet..nothing fantastic..

Back to hotel after dinner..bathed and played mahjong..w snacks and beer..
Next morning..checked out at ard 11am and went for brunch of wanton noodles..original intention was to go to another nearby Jusco before heading back to sg..ended up we went on a 1-day trip to Malacca~ hah...we were so impromtu..anyway we drove so travelling wasnt a problem..

not a good choice..noodles tasted too strongly of lard..the wonton 馅 was miserable..the 炸腐竹was too thick...only the coffee's not bad..disappointed~

in d car..on the way to Malacca..2hrs+ drive...

First stop: Desserts~ (hah, yeah eat again..)
白木耳豆浆

dg's 海底椰

just for pose..we din eat A&W..

Malacca Town

had an early dinner of melaka laksa and chendol...this shop tt we tried at (also recommended by jessie) was so fully packed and popular tt by our turn, only asam laksa was available..even the chendol is running out..last few bowls..heng we reach early..but the laksa's really nice! very different from sg...definitely a must-try!!

like the shophouse..very rustic..

Drove back to SG after dinner and some walking ard their night market.. slight jam at causeway so still ok..but before we came back..hah yay supper at JB~
Reached home ard 12+am..concussed after bathing..slpt till sunday 10+pm..had mac delivery for lunch (dg's family's on a Genting trip so we were left alone at home)...dinner at causeway pt after which we went for a walk at Waterfront Woodlands..the new park tt opened barely a month ago..almost fainted when I saw the condition the supposedly-new park is in...litters everywhere..people smoking everywhere..illegal fishing, prawning and crab-catching..and the toilets!! stinking of urine, flooded flooring, tissues lying ard..OMG!! did not had my camera w me else will be taking photos and stomp-ing it liao..
DG was so disgusted he immed made a complaint call to NEA and NParks..demanding them to do something..yuckz...I definitely am not gg there again in the near future..till singaporeans learn to love and treasure these nature parks tt the govt has built for us..
